Smart, chic and cosy but thrifty living in the city

It’s not easy to talk about yourself.  Most of my time is spent looking after other people.  I have four kids, a husband, one dog (at the moment), two Degu’s and various part timer visitors that fill our house from other dogs to family and lots and lots of friends.  Our home is calm, but in disarray as I strive to curtail the mess and clutter.  The house is a 1930’s home in London that we are in the process of doing up at the same time as our family is growing up and whose needs are ever changing.  Some of the house needs major overhaul whilst I’m hoping we can get away with a lick of paint and some carpentry on the other areas, a bit like the family!  What I have realised over the years, doing up homes and making things for my kids are my childhood loves for writing, photography and doing up old furniture.  I hope that these pages will be filled with the trails and tribulations of discovering what I am good at and of making it work.
